Platform · Semantic layer

One definition of revenue. Enforced.

The reason two dashboards disagree is that two people wrote two queries. Ward puts the definition above the query. People in the console, the chat panel and every agent resolve a metric the same way, so they cannot quietly disagree.

What it guarantees

Metrics, dimensions and grain defined once and enforced everywhere, including in what agents are allowed to compute.

01

Ward AI drafts each definition from the reports you already publish. You approve it before anything resolves through it.

02

Grain and additivity declared, so a wrong rollup is a failure not a number.

03

Agents resolve metrics through the layer. They cannot invent their own.

04

Lineage from a number on a page back to the source column.

What this looks like when you actually use it.

Why the definition sits above the query

Two dashboards disagree because two people wrote two queries. Putting the definition above the query is the only fix that survives staff turnover. It matters more with agents than it ever did with people, because an agent will write a plausible query against the wrong column and present the result with exactly the confidence of a right one.

Inferred from the reports you already publish

Nobody writes down what a metric means. They write down the report that uses it. Ward AI reads those reports and proposes definitions from them, flagging the ones where two documents disagree. This is the step that usually eats the schedule.
